- SEAC introduced principled negotiations to CA public education in 1988.
- In 1976, SEAC produced the first collective bargaining manuals >with sample labor and management language that guided negotiations during the early years of the EERA.
- SEAC was the first and only CA management organization to sponsor a joint labor-management conference to present Roger Fisher.
- SEAC is the first organization, labor or management, to stress the need to connect the educational program and student achievement to the influences of negotiations.
- SEAC was the first and only organization to serve district board/trustee members and administration in the collective bargaining process.
- SEAC was a founding member of PERB’s Curriculum Committee that conducted training in labor-management cooperation.
- SEAC was a founding member of CFIER, now CCS.
- SEAC is an original member of PERB’s Neutrals Advisory Committee.
- SEAC is the first organization to facilitate negotiations among its member districts.
- SEAC is the first organization to coordinate among state organizations a statewide collective bargaining summit to facilitate the setting of a management agenda for negotiations.
- SEAC provided leadership in 2004 for the formation of the California Education Coalition for Health Care Reform, a labor management project.
